Wealthy Wilma: A fun, yet odd name!

Initially, I was going to call our little book club the Good Wilma Hunting Book Club (you know, like the movie Good Will Hunting; as in get a Harvard education at the public library). But then I thought about trademarking issues and how much trouble I would get into by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. And then I thought of how much trouble I would get into from Matt and Ben. And then I dreamt about how much trouble I would get into from Matthew and Benjamin.... Okay, snap out of it! So, we're the Wealthy Wilma Book Club! The name just evolved, ‘kay?

Who was the first Wealthy Wilma?

Oh, I know: It was me! With a name like Bernadette (i.e. Burn-a-debt or Berns-in-debt) it was kind of my destiny if ya know what I mean. 
 
So yes, I'm in this with you. There is a strong possibility that I'll finish reading a book at the same time as you will and my first thought will be the same as yours: Awesome! Or, that sucked! Together we will learn.
 
Specifically, my name is Bernadette Giet (pronounced jee-ay) Butler. I was born in Victoria, B.C. Canada and now live in Vancouver but kind-of grew up all over Ontario. I have three sisters: Gabrielle, Alexandra, and Giselle. I am the second oldest. And my new husband is Rowan Butler who is a hunk from Australia that I met on a plane on my way to Toronto to host a Wealthy Wilma meeting. No joke!
 
By day I work in advertising; by night I write kid books and try to get them published. In my spare time I think of unique business ideas that exhaust my family. I also hang with my friends, force myself to read Wealthy Wilma books, (and guilt trip all who are slacking. Um, love you!) and, of course, keep this site updated.
